Do You Want to Use Data to Drive Performance?
Of course you do, it's the 21st century.
The REAL question is - how do you use data to drive performance?
I'll share this secret with you, using data well doesn't have that much to do with technology. Surprised? Consider this.
If you give 100 organizations access to the best data and analytics technologies with the best IT staff, only a handful of them will succeed in turning data into real results.
The reality is you will NEVER get the results you want simply by adopting new technologies.
Before adopting new technology, you have to ask yourself why you want the technology in the first place.
You want technology to drive performance in your organization. And performance, for any organization, means efficiently meeting customers' expectations of quality, in every sense of the word.
It's a simple idea, that leads to another secret ... Using data to drive performance means orienting your technology around your customers' expectations of quality.

This is Performance Measurement.
You've heard the saying "If you can't measure it, you can't improve it." Well, it's true. (credit to Peter Drucker)
When you say you want to use data to drive performance, what you really mean is you want to measure things so you can make them better. This is a no jargon way to think about what data can do for you.
Performance Measurement is the science of measuring business processes so that you can increase quality and efficiency for your customers. (my definition)
There's a huge body of knowledge around creating continuous improvement by measuring quality and efficiency. It's called Six Sigma.
Combining performance measurement methods like Six Sigma with new data technologies like Power BI and Microsoft Azure is a powerful and cost-effective way to drive performance in your organization.

Interested in building up your internal capability to do analytics (at scale)? Training is a great way to augment a larger program of enabling your people. I see two gaps in training that I've learned to address. First most training is boring, or at the very least unengaging. Second most training is one and done without a good follow-up motion to make sure things stick. After delivering 20+ multi-day trainings I've cracked on how to do this well.
